Liminal World: Canada( healing power of art)
‘Inside Out’ was an art exhibition Gabriela Hirt worked on with two other artists for the spring of 2020. The three women were planning to not only show their art but also their creative process exploring what fearless self-expression means to them.
It seems that life had its own twist for this season but a somewhat similar plan for her. The coronavirus removed Gabriela from everything she could hold on to: her studio, work routine, plans and connection, and made her freeze for a moment. Her sensitive nature reacted to what was happening in the outside world and she decided to reach out to the community. She managed not only to get herself out of fear, and bit by bit started painting again, but to immerse herself into leading an inspiring community project: “Challenge crisis with creativity”.
Gabriela Hirt is a German born Canadian artist whose art has been shown in the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the Gage Gallery, the Federation Gallery in Vancouver, and the National Arts Club in New York City.
